Who am I?

My name is Amy Adams.  I am 5’7 ½” tall, green eyes, and brown hair.  This spring of 2008 I became a junior who now commutes forty minutes to the Indiana University of Pennsylvania everyday. I am majoring in Psychology, and plan to minor in Sociology.  I would also like to major in Child development and Family studies.  I am 23 years old, and got married last June of 2007.  In August of this year my husband and I will be expecting our first child.

My husband is in the Army Reserve, and has been for nine years.  He is currently a Sergeant, and is looking into becoming a Staff Sergeant.  He is 28 years old, and graduates from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania this spring!

I currently rent an apartment in Punxsutawney, where I have lived for 3 years.  I have 6 pets; 3 dogs and 3 cats.  I know, it’s a lot, but they all get along great which makes it fun.  My dogs names are Jade (4 year old Rottweiler), Sadie, and Fox (1 year old Pomeranians).  The names of my cats are Baby, Milo, and Terry.

All of my family basically lives in Punxsutawney, and has all their lives.  I have 1 sister named Amanda.  She is 21 years old and works park-time.  I try to get her to go to college, but she doesn’t seem too interested right now.  I also have 2 step-sisters Tania; 25, and Leslie; 29.  Both of my step-sisters are married, but my sister Amanda is not.  My mother works at as a secretary at a machine shop, and my father works in a lumber yard.

As I complete college and get my degree, I plan on opening a daycare.  No, that doesn’t really have anything to do with Psychology, but I want to be able to raise my children, and still make a living.  I plan on managing my daycare at least until my children are into kindergarten.  By then, it will hopefully be established enough that I can hire help to run it, and I can then pursue what I went to college for.

From that point I plan on going back to college to get my Master’s in Psychology, where I would like to work at a private firm doing therapy.  I would also like to get a doctorate in Psychology, and maybe teach as I get older.

This type of writing is narrative.  I tried the best I could to make it like a story.  I felt that it would make it more interesting for my group, and the other groups to read.

  1. This was a nice about me article that gave some good detail into a bit about your past and your future. The only thing missing was the some quotes or sources.

  2. First I want to say CONGRATS!!! You must be so excited at the prospect of becoming a new mom.
Also this is a good paper. You reflected on the most important aspects of your life and I can definately tell that family is very important to you. I wish you the best of luck.

  3. Congrats on the baby on the way…and I am glad to see that you like me have alot of things that you plan to do in life. I think that one should never limit theirself and from reading your text I think that you are doing the exact opposite of that. I also see that you love animals and you have quite a few that must get a little crazy…after reading your blog I see why you said that you could draw a conclusion about me (the whole psycology major thing). Ignore my smart ass remarks…Very well written and glad to see that someone has big plans just as I do. GO NAVY BEAT ARMY!!!!
