Reading Responses

The author conducted a great amount of research for this

novel.  It is clear to see this because he uses such detail in

each character description; from the way they looked to their

thoughts and feelings.  He also used empirical data.  Page 51 goes into already expressed

detail of Nancy Clutter, and her brother Kenyon.

Another way that it is easy to tell the in-depth amount of time

the author put into research is the detail of the story itself.

He knows the routines of each character, the setting, plots,

and outcomes of this true tragedy. Page 55 expresses detail

on one important character’s, Perry’s negative traits.

The author researched friends, neighbors, and the

communities reaction to each character’s traits, which shows

he invested a lot of time.
